As "Unhinged" 2020 release; 93 min.) opens, it is "4:03 AM" and a gay we later come to know as Tom is clearly not having a good night in his pickup truck. He breaks into a house (presumably of his ex) and sets the place on fire. The next day, we get to know Rachel and her teenage son Kyle. As she is driving him to school, Rachel gets into an argument with Tom in his pickup truck over a green light/red light. Next thing you know, Tom murmurs "You don't even know what a bad day is, and I'm going to show you! At this point we are 10 min. into the film, but to tell you more of the plot would spoil your viewing experience, you'll just have to see for yourself how it all plays out.
Couple of comments: this is the latest film from director Derrick Borte ( The Joneses. Here he brings us what in essence can be summed up as "road rage on triple steroids. That's all you really need to know about this film. Even though it's all utterly predictable, I nevertheless found myself tensing up in my theater chair. The long (and I do mean, long) car chase sequence will make the hairs stand up on your arms. Russell Crowe is the perfect "bad guy. Has his real life weight ballooned to what we see in the movie or is this just movie make up? I don't know the answer, to be honest. The up-and-coming New Zealand actress Caren Pistorius is spot on as the single mom who is the target of the road rage. Bottom line: I had slim to none expectations for this film, and I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed it.
While some theaters have been open for about two months (showing mostly classic films or indie and foreign films. Unhinged" is the first wide theater release in the "new normal" era of COVID-19. The Sunday early evening showing where I saw this at the Cinemark here in Cincinnati was not attended well (less than 10 people. I think it will take a top-notch film like Christopher Nolan's "Tenet" to get people to return to the theaters. Meanwhile, if you like a good road rage action thriller, I'd readily suggest you check this out, be it in the theater, on VOD, or eventually on DVD/Blu-ray, and draw your own conclusion.

Walter Sobchak: Origins. This man went from playing an ancient Roman Warrior, to a real-life Genius, to Noah, and now a Psycho. Darn, that's a hell of a resume. Aka: A day in the life of Russell Crowe. I'm just saying I'm rooting for Russel crow.

The only good thing about this movie is the fact that it has an ending. Couldn't come soon enough though. One small step for man, one giant attack against Karenkind. I have watched this movie more than 4 times already, I love it soo much! Yes Josh is so Josh in this, and I was never really drawn to Leslie since I saw her in Popular, but she was perfect in this movie, I can't imagine anyone else playing Libby. I absolutely love her in this, I now realize how talented and beautiful and amazing she is. I'm sorry Leslie Bibb for not loving you sooner, you are pretty amazing. I wish I grew up on a goat farm, but I probably wouldn't appreciate it as much.

Dang I didn't know they made a movie about Alex jones. This looks like one of those russian road rage vids, but with better camera work and toned down action :D. Mom Dad and I saw this. It was amazing ride. It was like a roller coaster ride. Damn the crticics lol Go see this movie. Great questions Russ! Loved this. He looks like John Goodman without the acting talent. I can't be the only one rooting for Russell Crowe's character. It's been a good decade since 3:10 to Yuma when we got Good movie with Russell Crowe playing the antagonist. At least this one doesn't look like they'll pussy out and give his character a redemption at the end. 2:25 this scene. omg. Me and Russel Crowe, have a lockdown body, sweet. Damn he loooks soo good! Looks the best he ever has.

Why does Russell sound southern, just sound Aussie, dude. Im 105kg on 185 cm and im fat, but Russell,hmmm realy maximus. Great chemistry between them, they both have made some fantastic movies, go and watch “The Sum of Us” its on YouTube, one of the earlier Russell Crowe movies made in Australia 🇦🇺 a must watch in my humble opinion 😝. De s'approcher trop. What is russel crowe doing now - Finally someone who understands that question and gives a proper answer. Best way to start off the end of a PANDEMIC 👏👏👏. Cant wait for this russell crowe documentry. Love them both and both good actors who keep getting better and better. But also love what appears to be genuine friendship and respect for one another. He's like Walter Sobchak from the Big Lebowski. There's 2 kinds of people in this these are them. More liberal fantasies. Crowe is magnificent in that movie. OH Thank God. Just what we NEED in these troubled times. Another movie about a psycho killer.
